8 Weeks of Organized Training with Canine Academy

Each week, you and your entire family will follow step-by-step instructions training your good dog into a GREAT dog.

With the Beginner Program, you will address attention motivated behaviors such as mouthing, barking and stealing while you begin to teach the basic foundation of a well-mannered family dog. The Beginner Program is four weekly sessions resulting in your dog learning the five most commonly used commands: COME*SIT*DOWN*STAY*LET'S GO. You will also teach your dog to remain calm and relaxed on command; SETTLE. In addition, you will learn to trim your dog's nails and take your dog's temperature, both will be a lifetime requirement that should be done with ease.

Following the Beginner Program is the Intermediate Program. In this four week session, you will add reinforcements behind your basic commands previously taught in the Beginner Program. You will begin to raise the level of distraction with specific exercises, through which you will be guided by the video instruction. This session will teach more complex commands for your dog, such as formal HEELING and Advanced STAY exercises. Dogs successfully completing the Intermediate Program will be prepared to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test in your local area.

Time spent with your dog will now be productive. While you are eliminating the negative behaviors such as jumping, leash pulling, mouthing and barking, you will also be teaching positive behaviors. Dogs that come when called, stay when asked and walk nicely on a leash, are a source of enjoyment and pride.
