It is with great pride and excitement that we tell you Boone is now in his "forever home" with his "forever family,." Those of you that have been following Boone's progress with the Canine Academy, know that he came to us from the K9 Stray Rescue League after being bounced from Ohio to Michigan through multiple rescues and Humane Society facilities. We are grateful to have guided him through his transition from "homeless to GREATness."
Boone is an example of the commitment of "rescuing" a dog. Selecting a dog that will be compatible with your lifestyle and comfortable in your home environment is the first step. Rescues should never be chosen based on their looks and sad history, rather their needs in the future and your ability to support those specific needs. The next step will be seeking counsel for an assessment of your new dog's training and socialization needs, based on their current emotional standing, skill set and behaviors displayed. Providing your "rescue dog" with boundaries and teaching basic skills with consistent reinforcement will increase the likelihood that your dog will adapt to their new surroundings and flourish in their new life.
We invite you to follow Boone's progress as he adjusts to his new family life and continues to participate in training outings with Canine Academy.
