WHAT IS DAY TRAINING? WHY SHOULD I ENROLL MY DOG?
Day Training is offered to clients participating in our Dog School Program. Your dog will attend at least two days/week with us from 8am-6:30pm.
During the day, they will have multiple training sessions reinforcing the skills that are being taught in your Dog School Class. Training sessions will vary in frequency and length depending on the dog’s maturity and learning set. Training sessions could be as short as 10 minutes or as long as 30 minutes. You will be given a daily summary of their practice each day at pick-up which will guide you through home practice.
They will also have supervised socialization with other classmates. Again, frequency and length of playtime sessions will vary depending on the dog’s play drive and social skills.
Training, playtime and socialization is at the Trainer’s discretion. We are committed to assuring our Day Training Program is successful in achieving the highest level of appropriate social skills for each individual dog.
Once we have assessed your dog’s likes, dislikes, play drive and social skills, we may match partners as daytime roommates. Not all dogs will have daytime roommates, only those that would benefit from extended social time.
The objective of Day Training is supporting the clients in achieving a confident, social and well-mannered dog. Preparing your dog for a future boarding stay is an important part of the training process. Once your dog has been through the Day Training Process, they will always love to stay with us in Boarding while you travel.
Also consider scheduling a Spa Day while in Day Training. This day will include a bath, blow dry, brush and toenail trim as well as some crate training time as they dry after the bath. All of this is guided by their Trainer that they know and trust from Day Training.
